Infective Endocarditis Due to Haemophilus parainfluenzae: Case Report and Review of the Literature

We present a 20-year-old male who was admitted with recurrent fevers.He was diagnosed with Haemophilus parainfluenzae mitral valve endocarditis The Hat Jack - Hat stretcher with severe regurgitation and perforated leaflet.H.

parainfluenzae was resistant to ceftriaxone but repeated sensitivities showed a sensitive organism.Despite MEDI C PLUS W/MG endocarditis caused by H.parainfluenzae is rare, physicians should be vigilant of such diagnosis.

Antibiotics sensitivity may be questioned if shows a resistant organism.
